Meet the Principal

Welcome to a new year at Clyde Fischer Middle School.  I am fortunate to serve as the principal of this wonderful school.  Every day I look forward to all of the meaningful work, effective instruction, and opportunities to team around student achievement. Only through collaborative teams will we lead our students to reach their highest academic, social, and emotional success. I look forward to the opportunity to work with your families to directly support our children throughout this important transitional time in their lives.

I’d like to share a little about myself.  I was born and raised in San Jose California and residing in the East Side/Downtown community all my life. I grew up playing youth baseball in the Alum Rock Little League and continued with sports throughout my middle, high school, and college years.  Sixteen years ago I married my beautiful wife, Alex, and we are now proud and blessed parents of five sons.

I began my teaching career in 2002 in the East Side Union High School District as a Special Education Teacher.  Throughout my years in education I have served as a physical education teacher, intervention specialist, athletic director, frosh-soph football coach, varsity baseball coach, assistant principal, and principal.  I have served in the East Side and Downtown community for my entire career.

I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Administration of Justice at San Jose State University (SJSU).  I went on to receive my Special Education and Single Subject Teaching credential in the education department at SJSU.  In 2006, I received my Masters of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership, and my Doctorate Degree from SJSU's Educational Leadership Doctoral Program in 2018.

My goal, as well as the goal of our dedicated and hard-working team, is to help your student achieve success by meeting or exceeding district and state academic standards.  Along the way, we will reinforce the citizenship skills that will help us achieve new academic heights: being safe, responsible, and respectful. We encourage you to partner with us as we move throughout the school year, and invite you to come visit our school.  Together, we can attain the goal of preparing all students for the demands of an ever-changing world!

Dr. George Kleidon,

Principal, Clyde Fischer Middle School
